BOYZ N THE HOOD SQUABBLE UP

Made by LMG

Squabble up on the block.

Boyz n the Hood Squabble Up is a free browser fighting game inspired by the 1991 film Boyz n the Hood. Fight as the people of the neighborhood, from Tre, Doughboy and Ricky to Furious Styles and Officer Coffey, or go back to 1984 and play the boys as kids. Choose a sidekick and fight on stages from the film, from Furious’s front yard to Crenshaw Boulevard on cruise night.

It is a neighborhood brawl in the film’s world: fists, props, cars and attitude. It celebrates the neighborhood and never re-enacts the film’s tragedies.

A natural pace

Fights play slower and more naturally than a classic arcade fighter. Fighters walk instead of jogging, jumps are lower, knockdowns last longer, and every punch and kick takes its real wind-up and recovery, animated from video of each character. Most rounds last about a minute.

Pick your fight

Play the Arcade ladder, take on the CPU, follow the Story from 1984 to 1991, team up in 2v2 tag team, practice in Training, or challenge a friend on one device or online with a four-letter room code. Private online rooms connect the two browsers directly, which some networks may block. Quick online matchmaking is coming soon.

How to play

Use WASD to move, Q/G to punch, V/B to kick, H for a special or throwable, T/Y for supers (both together for an Ultra), C for a sidekick, R to block and E to taunt. Open Settings to adjust volume, difficulty and controls. Gamepads and mobile touch controls are also supported. See the full controls, the beginner’s guide and the whole roster.

Free to play

The game is free, with no account, no ads and nothing to buy. Nothing in the game is unlocked with money.
